The diamond is round, while the outer metal frame makes the heart shape. Open Heart Necklace puts the stone in a circular surround inside that frame, with open space between them.
How does the chain meet the heart pendant?
Each chain end attaches to an upper side of the heart on Open Heart Necklace. The outline spans the space between those points, with the circular centre below its top notch.
