Each month has a birthstone colour, and the easy gift is a design that carries that colour every day; Raayaa sets a man-made coloured gemstone centre with white lab-grown diamond accents in several designs, so you can match May's green, July's red, September's blue and October's pink now, and reach for a clean white-diamond design for the months we do not colour-match yet.
My rule is simple: buy the colour that will be worn on an ordinary Tuesday, and skip the gemstone that will stay in its box.
You are five tabs into choosing a birthday present, the dinner booking is set, and the date has offered one useful clue. The Raayaa gift edit narrows the field, but the birth date should not make the whole decision. Start with its colour. Then choose the design that belongs in the recipient's actual week.
Why colour is the gift
A traditional birthstone gives a birthday present a private reference. That part works. The trouble begins when the name of the gem matters more than the person who will wear it.
Colour is the part that meets a wardrobe. May's green can sit beside a white shirt at work. September's blue can live with denim and silver. October's pink can soften a black dress without asking for a special plan. A boxed gemstone may be correct by the calendar and still spend most days untouched.
For birthday gifting in India, daily wear is a better test than ceremony. Look at the metal already worn most often and the colours that appear again in bags, nails or clothes. The answer is often already in the wardrobe.
Use the birth month as your colour clue. Give personal style the final vote.
The birthstone for every month
The accepted list has changed over time and some months have more than one gem. I have used the GIA birthstone list by month as the reference, then mapped each month to a Raayaa design only where the colour or material is a fair match.
| Month | Birthstone | Colour | A Raayaa match |
|---|---|---|---|
| January | Garnet | Deep red | No colour match yet. Choose white lab-grown diamonds or the closest available colour. |
| February | Amethyst | Purple | No colour match yet. A white lab-grown diamond design is the clean fallback. |
| March | Aquamarine and bloodstone | Pale blue for aquamarine | No colour match yet. Choose a white lab-grown diamond design in the recipient's metal. |
| April | Diamond | White | Floral Square Necklace. |
| May | Emerald | Green | Green Marquise Eternity Ring. |
| June | Pearl, alexandrite and moonstone | Pearl white | Pearl Shell Necklace. |
| July | Ruby | Red | Red Marquise Eternity Ring. |
| August | Peridot, spinel and sardonyx | Green for peridot | No direct match yet. Choose white lab-grown diamonds or the nearest available colour. |
| September | Sapphire | Blue | Blue Marquise Eternity Ring. |
| October | Opal and tourmaline | Often pink | Pink Heart Necklace. |
| November | Topaz and citrine | Yellow to gold | No colour match yet. A white lab-grown diamond design keeps the gift easy to wear. |
| December | Turquoise, zircon and tanzanite | Blue | No colour match yet. Choose white lab-grown diamonds or the closest available colour. |
Tanzanite joined the December list in 2002. That change is a useful reminder: the list is a gifting convention, but the person receiving the design matters more.
The colours we set today
One material detail matters. In Raayaa's coloured designs, the centre is a man-made coloured gemstone set with white lab-grown diamond accents. It carries the birthstone's colour. It is not the graded mined birthstone gem itself, and it is never a coloured diamond.
For May, the Green Marquise Eternity Ring gives emerald green a slim, repeatable shape. July has the same clean answer in red, with the Red Marquise Eternity Ring. September has blue in the Blue Marquise Eternity Ring. These lightweight rings suit someone who likes a clear colour note without turning the hand into a display case.
October gets a softer route. The Pink Heart Necklace has a pink gemstone centre and white lab-grown diamond accents. June has the Pearl Shell Necklace, made with mother-of-pearl and shell plus lab-grown diamond detail. April is the most direct match. The Floral Square Necklace uses white lab-grown diamonds in 925 sterling silver.
Every Raayaa design comes in 925 sterling silver. Many have a rose-gold-plated finish. Solid gold designs are coming soon and are not on sale today. The scale stays petite. Across the house, the price band is about Rs 2,000 to Rs 41,000.
This is why I would choose the metal after the colour. A pink centre in high-polish silver feels different from the same small motif in warm gold. Both can honour October. Only one will look at home beside the jewellery already on the dressing table.
May, July, September and October have direct colour matches now. April has white lab-grown diamonds, while June has a pearl-led match.
Months we do not colour-match yet
Raayaa does not currently make direct colour matches for garnet, amethyst, aquamarine, peridot, topaz or turquoise. I would rather say that plainly than stretch one available design into a claim it cannot carry.
For January, February, March, August, November and December, choose a white lab-grown diamond design in the metal the recipient already wears. Another useful choice is the available birthstone colour closest to personal style. A February birthday does not create a duty to wear purple.
White lab-grown diamonds are especially useful when you know the preferred metal but not the preferred colour. A petite pendant necklace, studs, light bracelet or lightweight ring can mark the date without asking the recipient to rebuild a wardrobe around it. Keep the scale familiar. The colour reference can remain private.
If an exact gem matters more than daily wear, Raayaa is not the right colour match for those months today. If the birthday connection can live through colour, metal or a white-diamond fallback, you still have an honest gift.
